Why take part

Taking part costs nothing and takes a few minutes. Here's what it gets you.

You control your listing

Claim your organization and update your own hours, photos, accessibility details and contact information. Visitors see a clear Managed by this organization badge.

Your programs travel further

Every exhibit, screening, performance or talk you add appears on your page, in Berlin event searches and in citywide discovery, from one single entry.

Trusted, checked information

IDbGLAM independently checks basic details against official sources and shows the date, separately from who manages the listing.

Shared data for the whole city

Funders, tourism partners, schools and researchers can see Berlin's full cultural landscape, including small and community organizations that are often missed.

Neighbors, not just competitors

Each page shows nearby cultural places on a map, so a visit to one organization leads visitors to the next.

Shape the platform

Participating organizations help decide what IDbGLAM builds next, from collection links to accessibility standards.

How it works

1. Find your listing

Search below or browse the map. Many Berlin organizations already have a basic record, and we are adding more.

2. Claim it

Click Claim this listing and confirm you represent the organization. It takes about two minutes.

3. Bring it to life

Add photos, hours, accessibility details, and your exhibits, events and tours. Not listed yet? Add your organization.

Help us reach everyone

A city map only works if it's complete. We especially want to hear from:

  • Independent and artist-run galleries
  • Community, church and neighborhood archives
  • Historical societies and house museums
  • University and college galleries and special collections
  • Theatre companies, including those without their own venue
  • Dance, music and opera ensembles
  • Film, media and spoken-word programs
  • Library branches and their public programs

Know an organization that's missing or has wrong details? Tell us and we'll check it.

Questions

What does GLAM+P mean?

Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums, plus Performing Arts. In Berlin we're including film festival venues, cinemas, theatres, music venues and dance alongside collecting institutions, because visitors don't separate them and neither should a city map.

Does it cost anything to claim a listing?

No. Claiming is free and takes about two minutes. Once claimed, you can update your details and add photos, exhibits, events and accessibility information.

What is the difference between “Managed by this organization” and “Details checked by IDbGLAM”?

Managed means the organization has claimed the listing and is authorized to update it. Checked means IDbGLAM independently compared the basic details with official sources, on the date shown. A listing can have either, both or neither.

We don't have a building. Can we still be listed?

Yes. Touring companies, ensembles and programs without a permanent venue can be listed, and their events can be linked to the venues where they take place.

Where does the starting information come from?

Basic records are compiled from public, official sources such as the organization's own website. If anything is wrong, claim the listing to fix it or send us a correction.
