The Maryland Historical Trust is the state agency for historic preservation within the Maryland Department of Planning. It maintains the Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties, reviews projects for the National Register, administers the state historic rehabilitation tax credit and capital and non-capital grants, and operates the Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum. Historic sites, house museums and archaeology programs across Baltimore work with MHT.
