Part of the Maryland Department of Commerce, MSAC distributes state and NEA funding through Grants for Organizations, Arts in Education, Creativity Grants, Independent Artist Awards and folklife programs. It also administers Maryland’s Arts & Entertainment District program, which includes Station North, Bromo and Highlandtown in Baltimore. Most Maryland arts nonprofits, from museums to theatres, rely on MSAC operating support.
