Robert Dash (1931–2013) was an accomplished artist, poet, and gardener. He created Madoo, a garden filled with follies and inspired by his extensive research into garden history. Dash’s close ties with poets and artists, and his collaboration with Pulitzer Prize–winning poet James Schuyler, showcased the strong link between poetry, art, and Madoo.A full member of Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios, the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s network of artists’ homes and studios open to the public.
