More cultural options than ever means harder choices. IDbGLAM is a verified discovery layer that connects museums, galleries, libraries, theatres and historic sites so people can find what fits their interests, time and plans.

Why discovery got harder

A 2026 Strategic Management Journal study examined relationships among 241 major European digital platforms. Its finding: more platforms do not automatically mean better discovery. Users must search across separate systems, and useful complements may never connect.

AI makes this more important, not less. People now ask an assistant “What should I do this weekend?” and get an answer built from whatever cultural data it can trust. Source quality decides the answer, and the consumer website may be only one product.

What IDbGLAM does

IDbGLAM is not another app. It is a shared discovery and data layer. Museums, historic sites, galleries, libraries, performing arts, festivals and other cultural organizations are organized in one structured directory. That one layer serves several channels: a visitor’s search, a tourism itinerary tool, or an AI assistant answering a question.

The model changes the unit of value. Traditional discovery is institution-centred: a museum website, a theatre calendar, a ticketing platform. IDbGLAM is intent-centred: “What fits my interests and time?”, “What is open, nearby and accessible?”, “What would I never think to search for?”

Who it is for

  • Visitors: cultural travellers, local explorers, cinephiles, and architecture and heritage lovers who want less searching and better discovery.
  • Cultural organizations: museums, historic sites, libraries, archives and performing arts and festival organizations that need reliable information to be visible.
  • Paying partners: tourism organizations, itinerary platforms, destination services and AI providers that need structured cultural information without rebuilding it.

Starting small: Baltimore first

The plan is a focused pilot before any national rollout. The pitch breaks it into three steps:

  1. Build ground truth. Verify the data for a set of Baltimore cultural organizations.
  2. Test the answers. Compare ordinary web search with verified answers, and score accuracy, outdated facts, mix-ups and attribution.
  3. Test willingness to pay. Interview tourism and itinerary buyers, and measure purchasing authority and pilot requirements.

Better answers alone do not make a business. The pilot has to prove both performance and demand.
