Museum van de Geest

The Outsider Art Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands, opened in 2016. Situated within the Hermitage Amsterdam, the museum was designed to integrate with the historic and grand setting of its parent institution. The Outsider Art Museum presents works by self-taught artists, including those with mental health challenges. The collection includes powerful pieces by Willem van Genk, who created detailed and intricate urban scenes, and the dynamic, colorful works of Judith Scott, a fiber artist with Down syndrome.
