China's cultural landscape is continuously evolving, with several new museums opening their doors in recent years. Here are some of the newest additions to the museum scene in China.

Beijing Minsheng Art Museum

Long Museum West Bund

M+ Museum
Opened in 2021 in Hong Kong, M+ is a museum of visual culture, encompassing 20th and 21st-century art, design, architecture, and moving image from Hong Kong, Asia, and beyond.

Shanghai Astronomy Museum
Opened in 2021, this museum is the world’s largest planetarium. It features interactive exhibits, planetarium shows, and educational programs dedicated to astronomy and space exploration.

Shenzhen Sea World Culture and Arts Center
Opened in 2017, this center in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, was designed by renowned architect Fumihiko Maki. It features contemporary art exhibitions, cultural events, and creative workshops.

Sifang Art Museum
Opened in 2013 but recently gaining more prominence in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, it showcases contemporary art within a stunning architectural setting designed by American architect Steven Holl.

Tsinghua University Art Museum
Opened in 2016 in Beijing, this museum is part of Tsinghua University and features collections that span from ancient Chinese artifacts to contemporary art.

UCCA Center for Contemporary Art
Opened in 2018 in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, UCCA is built directly into the dunes along the coast, offering a unique integration of nature and contemporary art. It is an extension of the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing.
West Bund Museum
Opened in 2019 in Shanghai, West Bund Museum is a collaboration between the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the West Bund Group. It features a rotating selection of art from the Pompidou’s collection.
